Turning in for a few hours before a night on the town. Entering my bedroom, I lay down for a while looking at the ceiling. Feeling satisfied with my day so far. Dozing off, I rest for a few hours. Once the night starts I only think about the festivities planned but decide my moment of fun is fulfilled.
Sometimes the things that are good become overlooked. The good people, good times, the fact that we ate a meal although it didn’t have a 5 star taste. We get compliments but give attention to hate. Recently I watched a show about young football athletes at a Juco college. There was one young man by the name of ‘Dakota’ who made some mistakes in the past but showed great improvement becoming a class act. All A’s including math.
Proved himself without a doubt, but here’s the catch, D1 colleges still chose to bash. You would think offers should be piled like a rich man’s cash. He could have focused on all that he didn’t get and deserved but was content with a second chance from the D1 college he once had. The good in this is he worked hard against all odds. If you counted him out he didn’t make it easy to explain that part.
You can say but look at what he did, and I say look at what he’s done. Most importantly look at the person he chose to become. A little trouble a lot of hard work both started in the past but one he took with him which is hard work. He knew who he had potential to be. He became. Changing the direction of his given name.
What I liked about this young man is he even helped classmates maintain. He has the spirit of a person that creates the good in a situation. Let’s not forget his football skills were like a beast untamed. You mean to tell me this young man had brains and game. Wow. I know right. Insane. When you are smart enough to claim what’s yours and skilled enough to entertain.
Let’s also not forget the good of the one college that acknowledged his potential seeing past what’s vain. Another thing I like is how he chose to become one of the most fruitful seeds instead of choosing to blame or shame classmates to knock them out of a lane. Liking how he set his goals and did not stray but became humble to attain his vision.
He started at a D1 and went down to JUCO, working his way back up to where his heart aimed. Sustaining the knowing of what he already had in his hands grasp, he did not look away but chose to get it back. For someone who was supposedly “a danger to society” he taught society a lesson on how to rise through adversity, passing this test can not be hacked. The good in him is real. Outshining everything bad, the good I choose to rehash.
