Life has been new for me after becoming a part of the King’s Council. As I sit here at the table of advisors, I think about how much I miss being less important. I know I asked for this, but only because I knew what was at stake for the Kingdom. My spirit led me here, but my heart leads me to a simpler life. I now live within the King’s Gates with my own home built of brick.
There are days when I still work duties as a scheduleman. Mainly for my own sanity in this transition. Now I dress as the wealthy and eat the finest of meats. King JoLe seats me next to the two wiseman when strategizing. Snapping out of my thoughts I tune in to King JoLe discussing the Hysieng people. “The Hysieng King made war with us in his confidence of overtaking our village.
I ask every man seated at the table what gives a brute man like King ZaKein the confidence to war with our people? Think about it. The people of Hysieng worship the things they can take. Their lust is fed by how much blood they can shed. What I speak is they have no respect or honor for Elohiym. So, who is the messenger they send to spy. How many? We will root out all spies here that came from the Hysieng village. We will also block their sorcerers’ visions from being able to reach this village.
The Hysieng King knew when and how to strike. The Hysieng people prey on the weak and unaware. Making no moves except the ones they can see. While we are spiritual people that are blessed by Elohiym with many strong and loyal warriors to defend our territory. The loyal bonds here are so strong. This is why the spy is unlikely to be one of Yisraem. He has overtaken many villages using his spies. Which is why I know the Hysieng King has a spy or spies in our midst. After we root out the Hysieng spies we will war against the Hysieng village. King of the Hysieng has broken the peace treaty and he will never stop until he has made slaves of our people.
His lust for power has made him a blind man. Once again, wanting the things he did not create. Wanting to use the hands of the Yisraem men and women to line his walls with more wealth. Have any of you councilmen seen anyone in our village that may be of the Hysieng?” One of the Councilmen mentions ‘Taleh’ who is a friend of mine that escaped from the Hysieng warriors when they raided his village last year.
So I chime in to vouch for Taleh. King JoLe I assure you, Taleh is not a spy. He lost his village to the Hysieng last year and fought with us in the war against the Hysieng. He did not spare the Hysieng in war. King JoLe that alone is his witness to the torture they committed against his people before he fled to Yisraem.

After the meeting I decided to take Chompahs on a ride to find Hysieng people that are in Yisraem. While riding through the village, I see Melizah and Piya having tea. Those are two beautiful women. If I didn’t already have my eyes set on Melizah as a wife, Piya would possibly be a 1st choice. There is a sweetness to her eyes that is tempting. Melizah’s beauty is different but equally irresistible.
Although sometimes the way Meliza glares at me scares and intrigues me. As she gets up to leave, I decide to talk with her. The sight of her walking away is amazing. Meliza it is nice to see you on a day like today; would you like a lift home? “Thanks for offering Irik, but a lady mustn’t ride on a man’s horse without a carriage. Nevertheless, it is always nice to see you. Have you heard anything about when the wedding will be for the King’s taking of a new wife? We are all expecting there to be one since winning the great war? ”
As much as I am happy to see you Meliza I can’t discuss matters of the King. Although there is a matter I am interested in concerning you. “Okay, and what would that be Irik?” I am a single gentleman that could provide well for a woman of your standing. You are gorgeous and smart and deserve to be courted by a man that would treat you well, like I can. “Um Irik I can hear where this is going but if I am honest my heart is elsewhere.” Wow I guess I waited too long. I should have known suitors would line up for a chance to Marry a girl like you.
Well Meliza, enjoy the rest of your evening. “Same to you Irik.” I started to head home after the disappointing conversation with Meliza. I can’t help but wonder did Taleh hurry to gain Meliza’s affection after my and his conversation. Right now, I am one of the King’s right-hand men. Therefore, it puzzles me that Meliza has interest elsewhere. The bright side of all of this is I still have a chance with Piya. She has even let it be known that she was interested in the past. Although, then I thought Meliza would be the one.
