While hunting I managed to overtake a fine deer for meat. My brother Irik now sits next to the king and I will honor his success by preparing for him fine meat. As his older brother I just want to have a moment with him and my youngest brother ‘Nite’. We have all grown into men together but in a way I have always felt responsible for them.
We all miss the man who was like a father to us ‘Otui’ and sometimes I will prepare fine meat as a way to say we are all still sticking together. Myself and Nite still live on the land we found as children, but have plenteous of land given to us from Otui at his passing. Once we marry we will move on to new lands. Therefore, we can grow the extensions of our family in peace. Many wives belonging with different husbands in one home could cause strife.
While setting my fire wood in the fire to let it set before cooking the meat, I season the meat with herbs and spices. Just in time I see Nite and Irik walking near. Hello my brothers I see you were able to stop by and have a meal with your eldest brother. I am glad to see you two still having some respect. While laughing Nite says “Yeah we have to keep the old man company.” Old man what are you talking about. [We all start laughing aloud.]
Irik my brother, we are truly proud of you for the wisdom bestowed on you that led us to win the great war. King JoLe is truly blessed to have a man like you by his side. ‘Thanks man that means a lot coming from the great hunter Sorok.’ We ate good, laughed, enjoyed each other’s company most of the day and then it came time to prepare to attend the Kings announcement ceremony. It will be at night because the announcements will be a celebration for the entire village. Irik rode in and back out on his horse Chompahs. Nite and I made sure things were in order on the land and rode out to check our other locations. Afterwards, got dressed for the celebration.

Myself and Nite decided to walk to the ceremony. The evening is nice, and we wanted to chat with fellow villagers on the way. Once we reached the Kings gates you could hear the drums beating along with song and dance. Everything felt upbeat. The dancers were dressed in traditional attire made of leaflets with gold painting on their skin. I noticed Torro was standing with his woman (Oiyah) and decided to go over to speak to him.
Glad to see you here tonight Torro, my good friend. It’s been a while since I seen you. You have been doing a great work of helping the people maintain peace of mind. [We both start to laugh] Although it is true Torro is spoken highly of throughout the village. “Sorok I am just the same old Torro you grew up knowing. Apart from being a man now who is doing my part to keep the people of Yisraem a tight knit family. Making sure that those who find themselves confused, lost, needing a deeper connection or just suffocated by the day to day can have an escape. So that we can all keep our hearts and minds grounded. You should come by sometimes we are building a real family centered on connecting with Elohiym.”
Just let me know what the next day is you all connect. I think that it would be a nice experience for myself and the woman I am courting by the name of Haciah. “Wow Sorok Haciah is a beautiful woman. I didn’t know you all were courting.” Her parents are elderly and she cares for them in their old age. So, she doesn’t get out a lot. Hopefully once she becomes my wife you and those close to me can get to know her better. “Okay she is always welcome.” Torro’s woman Oiyah has three of their children at the ceremony tonight so I kept it moving so that he could tend to the little ones. As I am walking, I suddenly feel a rub down my arms.
Turning around it is Haciah. In attire so simple but matching her physique and skin tone perfectly. Her presence surprised me and also made tonight’s ceremony feel just right. Immediately I scooped her in to embrace her. We just stood there embracing one another. Then I just look in her eyes for a minute with us both lightly smiling. She seemed relieved to see me, but there was sadness behind her eyes. Like whatever it is that she is not ready to tell me is eating at her. Although I love Haciah I need her to let me in order for me to be there for her in the way she needs.
We continued the night almost like we were in our own little world for a minute. Dancing and talking. Everyone at the ceremony seemed to be having a good time. Even noticing Irik and Nite both dancing with two beautiful women. Queen Iza starts to speak amongst the people. Everyone starts to quiet themselves. “Hello people of Yisraem. Tonight is a very special night. Our village has been blessed with a new branch in winning the great war. Therefore, we will share that blessing with you all tonight.
I stand here with joy in my heart being born a Yisraem woman and now the Queen of a village I have always loved. You people bring so much life to Yisraem. You all are the glue. King JoLe loves the Yisraem people. The love pours throughout this village. We strive to make sure Yisraem will not fall under our enemies’ plan to oppress. Therefore King JoLe will be keeping the Yisraem tradition and a new Yisraem bride has been chosen.
This special woman will be the 2nd Wife to King JoLe. It is an honor. As we all know King JoLe’s father had 12 wives because he won many wars. We are most thankful to Elohiym. This special woman and her family will be invited to a private eat in with myself and King JoLe over the coming weeks. Thank you all for coming. Enjoy the ceremony.” After Queen Iza was done talking, I am curious to know who the new bride might be. I haven’t heard a word about King JoLe’s interest.
Everything hasn’t always been perfect since King JoLe became King but over the last couple of years he has changed for the better. When he first became King, he placed harsh laws on the people. He thought that stripping away our freedoms would make the Kingdom more rich. It all backfired and he slowly started to see the error in his ways. We can all see where greed has gotten the Hysieng King. I guess King JoLe could see that too. Overall, he didn’t want that for Yisraem.
