King Zakein
On this day I have gathered all of you, my people, the people of the great village of Hysieng to announce there will be a ceremony for myself and the beautiful woman Zira who you all are aware links our people and the Usecki people. This marriage was arranged before the great war against the Yisraem people but is needed more so than ever after the disappointing transpiring of a battle lost. This alliance serves both our village and the Usecki village.
The Usecki people grow the most grain of any village we have ever encountered. While we are the most feared of all villages. Before our alliance the Usecki village had many Kings take notice of the plentiful grain grown in Usecki. Which brought the Usecki village many enemies. While I have offered the Usecki village mercy and protection in exchange for two fourths of the grain grown. While I could have taken it all after it was grown. Everyone treat Zira as you would a Queen because she will soon be Queen of Hysieng.
While Yisraem will be having a marriage ceremony to celebrate what they believe is the defeat of the Hysieng village. We will have our own celebrations. King JoLe is a man in his youth. Not long a King as I have been. He and his village will serve the Hysieng people. After the fall of King Jole’s father I made a promise to this village that Hysieng and Yisraem villages would become one. Yisraem people will submit to our ways and do as I command. As I have promised you all, my people, Hysieng. ‘Once my announcement commenced, my loyal servant Saul answered the questions of the Hysieng villagers.’
In wake of returning to my chambers I see Haciah. There is a different look in her eyes. She has a look of innocence in her eyes. Like her soul is lighter than before. Pausing at her beauty without even realizing I did so. It is as if she is at peace. Unable am I to move forward without knowing what this new foundation of hers is stemming from. Approaching her I tell her ‘come to my chambers at once.’ My King I would never disobey you but it is very important I am on time to meet the man who will give us the information needed to win the next battle against the Yisraems.
‘Even more so do I command you to come to my chambers at once!’ As I walk away from Haciah, my thoughts are to end her spy duties. With Zira in place to become the new queen, I would need to keep Haciah closer than ever to ensure she wouldn’t think to betray her village for the purposes of a scorn heart. It concerns me that after hearing my announcement to marry Zira, Haciah seems to be at peace. Leaving me to wonder are her spy duties becoming something more.
Relieved to enter my chamber with my servant having already prepared strong drink to ease the tension of being a King. After my second drink, I notice, Haciah still has not come. Uhet, Lady Haciah is required to be at my chambers at once please fetch her at once. Yes King, right away. While waiting on my servant Uhet to return with Haciah quite some time passes before he returns alone. Sorry King, Lady Haciah was last seen leaving the village.
Her message to the guards was she had to attend duties by your orders. Uhet if I send you to a task you don’t return without that task being complete. Men that are not able to serve as told will be dealt with according to their lacking. ‘Please King Zakein, give me more time and I promise I will find her and return her to you before the morning light.’ Two hours is what I will give you to find her or it’s your life span. Not only will you die but your title of a loyal servant will be stripped, and you will die the death of a traitor.
Haciah
After King Zakein officially announced he will marry Zira, it hurt. Though I must admit it was also relieving. Honestly I never thought that I could feel relief that the man who promised me that I will be queen of Hysieng has chosen another. Sorok has shown me something that feels different than anything before him. He makes me wish that I was born a Yisraem woman so that I could be with him without the guilt of knowing I am his betrayer.
In a way, I don’t feel I am able to betray Sorok by helping my King destroy the beautiful people and village of Yisraem. It is my honest feeling. Although loyalty even when it is wrong is a forcefield. Even I, knowing the truth, am not sure if I could break the forcefield. I could walk away from Sorok and in that way protect him while also remaining loyal to my king. My will is at a tug of war because I am now in love with Sorok.
As I approach his home, I think how he is not expecting me. My hand quivers as I knock and he opens the door. Seeing him just made me feel safe. Haciah. What are you doing out alone at this hour? Come in quickly. ‘As I slip into his home quickly, his facial expression shows that he is deeply concerned. He continues to ask me questions, and I try to think of what to say as he asks. “Did something happen at your home?” No Sorok, everything is fine. I am fine. I just felt need to see you. To be with you.
