Irik
It is now 5:30 a.m and I have 20 minutes to be at the big bell to wake the villagers to start of day. It takes precisely 21 minutes to get there if I ride my horse that goes by the name Chompahs vs 20 minutes point 3 seconds if I ride my horse named West. Therefore, me and West will take on the ventures of today. Arriving at the big bell I see Taleh sitting on a rock. It’s rather early for anyone to be here.
Taleh is a fellow who escaped from the men of Hysieng when they raided his village last year and tried to take him as a slave. He is a great warrior and fought off 7 or 8 Hysieng men, having to take the lives of 3. “Top of the Morning Irik, it seems I made here before you.” Yes, you did Taleh, what awakens you before the ringing of the bell? “If you must know, there is no bell more loud than the Elohiym of the earth.” Hmm, don’t use the great Eloha to avoid a valid question. Taleh, I am your friend. Is there something that troubles you. “No, actually I was hoping to see the beautiful Melizah this morning. I hear she works with the cows.”
Umph Umph Umph, Irik clears throat. Um yes she is scheduled to work with the cows, but I doubt you will find her working here, or anywhere for that matter. I didn’t know you had taken interest in Melizah. “How could I not take interest in Melizah; have you not seen her.” Before responding to Taleh I think to myself of course I have seen her and that is exactly why I will take her as my wife one day.
So I tell Taleh, hey man you better be careful because you’re not actually a Yisraem. You just moved here a year ago, and the elders don’t take to kindly to Yisraem women marrying out of culture due to differences in spiritual beliefs. “Irik, don’t worry my brother she and I will both serve Elohiym when she is my wife.” I respond, okay my man let me get to my duties of waking the villagers. As I start my days work, I think about Taleh trying to take the woman that I admire. Looks like his new love interest may be the end of me and his friendship.
Ariah
Good morning Irik, it is always nice to see you. “Hello Ariah, I thought you said Meliza was coming with you today.” Irik, If I could drag her down here by her pristine fabrics I would. Anyhow, did you attend King JoLe’s announcements on yesterday? “Yes, indeed I did attend. It is required for anyone who manages duty schedules to be at every public announcements.
I have offered my strategist planning services to King JoLe in the fight against the Hysieng people, but he does not believe I could be of good council to him. It is as if he cannot see the value of a warrior who is also wise. Muscles alone don’t win wars. Ariah I have plans written up to stop us from losing many men in war against the Hysieng. They outnumber us 4000 men to our 1000. We must be wise and fight back with our minds. With our minds being led by Elohiym.
That is, If we want to protect the Yisraem people as our forefathers did.” As Irik is talking I start to feel his soul in connection with mine. I never realized how passionate he is about our village. Irik is not a showoff so many of the ladies overlook him. How ironic, because underneath his sometimes-nerdy approach, his physical appearance is very appealing. “Ariah Ariah, are you hearing me?” Um yes, I hear you and I think you should request to approach the King again, make your voice heard.

“Ariah you know you are different in so many ways. Which I know makes it hard for you sometimes but never change. The ladies give you a hard time because your spirit is a light. You are like a sister to me.” Feeling nervous, I lie, and tell Irik he is like a brother to me too and start on my duties. My thoughts are all over the place because I don’t think of Irik like a brother.
Today while looking at him I couldn’t help but notice his eyebrows are gorgeous. With eyes that have strength and purpose within them. The attraction I am feeling for him is unbearable since it is not reciprocated. Fast approaching is Sala and Ahteo they whisper, “meet us at the lake after duties.” I whisper back, “I will be there. After duties I head towards the lake and I see at least 40 people huddling in a circle with their tents as if they will be staying overnight at the lake.
We call ourselves earthers because we spend three days a week after duties connecting to what is silent in the earth. Through the noise of crickets and creeping things we ground our minds and entire being to be able to hear a drip of water. We connect ourselves so deeply to the silence until we can receive spiritual guidance over our lives from Elohiym. Although most of all it is to receive peace above all understanding.
